The KVK model 650-SP3 is the ideal on-farm solution, which provides you with a chute developed with focus on optimal comfort for both cow and trimmer while at the same time providing an effective workflow. The chute enables the trimmer to meet todays’ demands for hoof trimming in a professional way. The chute is designed to perform hoof care on livestock between 200- 900 kg.
The KVK hoof support system
The Model 650-SP3 comes as a standard with 4 hydraulic hoof support plates as part of the hoof support system. This system provides a ridged surface for the trimmer to work against allowing for a more precise trim. The support plates are adjusted hydraulically from right to left, but manually in and out. This provide the possibility of adjusting the support plate individually, so they fit and support the hoof in the best way possible during the trim. This way of working enables a better overview of the hoof especially during treatments of hoof injuries and blocking the hoof.
Essential hydraulic functions
The 650-SP3 hoof trimming chute is equipped with all the essential hydraulic functions, which allows for a good work flow.
The hoof trimming chute has a hydraulic double belly band system, which gently supports the cow during the trim. This system also provides the possible of using the chute for other treatments (such as checking for udder cleft dermatitis), while it exposes the udder and minimizes the risk for the personnel doing examination and treatment.
The hydraulic front door opens both inwards and outwards in the full height of the chute providing a large and wide opening for the cow to exit the chute in. The gates of the front door can be adjusted in the width individually to accommodate larger and smaller livestock.
The model 650-SP3 has a large hydraulic back door, which is side-hinged and therefor can be used as part of the barrier when guiding the livestock into the chute. The design of backdoor also makes it optimal to use when guiding the cow the last part of the way into the chute while it gently guides the cow forward.
The hoof trimming chute model 650-SP3 is designed with a hydraulic lifting system, which can be individual adjusted, so it stops at the correct working height for you. This provides you with a good working posture during the trim.
Easy maintenance
The KVK model 650-SP3 hoof trimming chute is a complete galvanised version, which makes it very resistant toward aggressive environments and durable.
The floor of the hoof trimming chute is covered with a thick rubber mat, which makes the floor easy to clean and less slippery for the livestock being trimmed. Furthermore the back of the floor is designed with a grid, so that faeces will not accumulate on the floor of the chute and thereby making sure that the hoof is not covered in faeces when entering the chute.
Effective work flow
One of the advantages of the hoof trimming chute model 650-SP3 having a side-hinged back door is that is allows for the back door to be used for extra storage. This storage opportunity provides an easy access to your equipment during the hoof trimming process. The four LED working lights placed above the hooves provides the hoof trimmer with an excellent view off the hoof even in darker places. The standard gallow with a holder for the grinder gives a good work flow, while this enables you to bring the grinder with you from hoof to hoof.
Animal welfare
Animal welfare and comfort has always been an important value and in the forefront for design development at KVK. The starting point is the anatomy and movement of the cow.
The front gates are design to meet the cow in it’s movement, and not stop it abruptly by sideway moving doors. This is carried out with the front gates being able move from the inside of the chute towards the outside.
The front leg suspension is developed, so it enables the cow’s natural anatomical leg position not to be broken and thereby creating an overstretch or angling of the leg, which can result in an injury.
Much attention have ben paid to the individual components on the model 650-SP3 to make sure these are as noised reduced as possible, since this can help reduce the stress experienced by the cow and make the hoof trimming process more comfortable.
